September Loves Cover

Wow – it’s hard to believe we are almost halfway into October already. Those balmy summer and early autumn days are behind us. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to get my winter clothes, jackets and scarves out of storage this weekend and to put my summer pieces away until next year.

I’ll also be looking into adding some more moisturizing products, especially oils, into my skincare routine now that the cooler weather is here. Summer air conditioning ravaged my skin from June until September and now my old enemy is on its way – cold, dry air! But, that is another blog post…

Today I want to recap my favorite products from the end of August through September. One of my favorite places to shop, Cult Beauty, had quite a few deals on this summer, including a fab goody bag. I had the chance to try out quite a few new products that I’m crazy about! So here are my “September Loves”.

top 10 september

I had been lusting after this little device since last year. I finally took the plunge this summer and splurged on it when Cult Beauty had a 20% sale, since I could import it within my duty-free threshold into South Korea.
The thing that amazes me about my Luna Mini is that it is still going on THE SAME CHARGE – now we are almost going on two months. Its battery life is simply awesome!

The other thing that’s great about it is that it’s totally waterproof. I keep mine in the shower and use it in the morning to wake up my face. Foreo’s website says that it can be used one minute in the morning and one minute at night, but so far, I’ve just been using it once a day on clean skin with Ren’s Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk.

It comes with instructions on how to use it and it has two different speeds. It pulsates at different time intervals while you are using it, so you know when it’s time to switch to a different part of your face.

It’s a great little tool to have. I plan on doing a longer review post on it, so keep your eyes out for that.
In the meantime, check it out here. (It retails for 139 US dollars)

brow lift

The second product on my September Loves List is this UH-mazing brow pencil from Studio 10.

The Brow-Lift Perfecting Liner is a double-ended brow pencil that compliments all skin colors and brow colors ( I KNOW – it’s hard to believe). The color worked unbelievably well on my light brown brows and stayed put all day. The other end of the pencil is a fleshy toned highlighter that can be used along the brow bone and directly under your brow to give you that “clean” look that we are seeing all over Instagram.

I was extremely lucky to get this free in my Cult Beauty Goody Bag. You can see it here (Studio 10). It retails for 22 pounds.

This masque from Aesop was literally a lifesaver this summer. I used it twice weekly for instant calming when I had troubled skin. It was also wonderful to use on single spots to dry them out.

It’s a rich brown clay-based formula infused with botanicals and oils. It dries quickly and you can wash it off after 15 minutes. It really soothes redness and calms trouble spots. And it smells beautiful – floral but earthy at the same time.

Ingredient list: Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Bentonite, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Ormenis Multicaulis Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Leptospermum Petersonii Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, d-Limonene.

60ml retails for AU$51.00 on Aesop’s Australian website.

Ok, these sponge hair rollers from Etude House are just too cute and INEXPENSIVE not to have fun with. I just did a blog post about them which you can check out HERE.

the wet brush

I have super fine, curly hair. I’m lucky that I can wear it straight and also very curly. However, the day after curly is HELL trying to brush it when I get out of the shower. In comes the Wet Brush. Having heard so many great reviews about it, I finally got one for myself this late summer.

It really does hold up to its promises – it cuts through my massive tangles without breaking my fine hair. I guess this is due to its super flexible bouncy bristles which also massage your scalp. Win-win!

The Wet Brush retails for 8.99 USD and can be found HERE.

When I’m having a “good skin day”, this is my go-to product for light coverage. It’s packed with light-diffusing minerals to create a fresh, dewy complexion. It also has an SPF of 20 as well as the antioxidants ginseng and gingko biloba leaf extract.

The directions say apply to clean skin, but I have been applying it over my moisturizer (Layers!!). I purchased Pearl which is the second lightest color but found it was still a bit dark for me. So, I bought the lightest shade, Opal, and now I mix the two shades together which I’ve found is the perfect match.

It retails for USD $38.00 at Jouer (they ship internationally).

This silicon-based, oil free liquid blush is AMAZEBALLS! I’ve been using the shade “Cherub” which is Daniel Sandler’s bestselling colour. It’s a dainty pastel pink that suits fair skin tones and gives you that natural flush. I did buy the watercolor brush to apply it, but I’ve found that just using my fingertip works best.

What I love best about this blush is its staying power. Powder blushes are no match for this liquid blush. I’ve just picked up two more colors “Gentle” and “Truth” which I can’t wait to try out.

It sells at a very affordable price point (15.50 pounds) here at Daniel Sandler.

This is another little freebie I got in my Cult Beauty Goody Bag at the end of summer. It is a beautiful mask! The smell, the texture, the colour – you almost want to eat it straight out of the jar!

It is …
A NUTRI-ACTIVE RADIANCE, BRIGHTENING & RESURFACING MASK WITH MAJOR ANTI-AGEING BENEFITS TO REVEAL A BRIGHTER, FRESHER LOOKING YOU…With MSM, Passionfruit, Grape, Lemon & Grapefruit AHA’s, Papaya Enzymes, Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes, Ribose & Butterbur.

I’ve used it about 6 times and have been loving the results. I usually use it at night and the next morning I have brighter, smoother skin. My husband has even tried it a few times, and it’s not drying at all. It never hardens on your face.

Oskia's Renaissance Mask

It retails for 48.50 pounds at Oskia’s UK based website here.

brow wiz

Anastasia Beverly Hills has certainly made us more aware of the state of our brows. And she has created some genius little tools to get them in tip-top shape that’s for sure!

The Brow Wiz mechanical pencil is great for drawing thin lines and also works wonders for outlining your brows. It’s one of the best brow pencils I’ve ever used! I just wish it would last longer.

I’m using Taupe (Ash Blond) which is for dark blond or light brown eyebrows. And – it works brilliantly with Dip Brow Pomade in Blond or Taupe.

It sells for USD $21.00 at Anastasia Beverly Hills’ US website.

amazing concealer
The last product on my September Loves List is this Amazing Concealer by Amazing Cosmetics. It really is hard to find a concealer that has staying power and good coverage while keeping your skin looking natural.

I have to admit, when I opened the package and saw how small the tube was (15ml), I was a bit disappointed. However, this is a HIGHLY pigmented concealer. A little really does go a long way! It covers imperfections extremely well and didn’t exaggerate fine lines around the eyes, which so many concealers tend to do.

It comes in 20 shades; I’m using fair which seems to be a good match for me.

It retails for USD $42.00 at Amazing Cosmetics.

Well, that wraps up my September Loves List! You really can’t go wrong with any of these fabulous products.

Keep your eye out for my October Loves List coming next November.
